Barulho are a Samba Reggae Funk band based in Brighton. We blend Afro-Cuban and South American traditional forms with contemporary funk, hip hop and drum & bass.
Formed in 2000, we have performed at countless events, from festivals and clubs to private and community celebrations, both nationally and internationally. Including: Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Playgroup Festival, Westend Festival Glasgow, Wroclaw Non Stop Festival in Poland and Brighton Pride.
We pride ourselves on creating visually stunning costumes which turn any gig into an extraordinary experience: from Barulho Chic for weddings or formal events, to our Arts Council-funded Carnival Bizarre, a troupe of eccentrically-attired troubadours.
